Review on Your Vessel
Written for High Speed Vessels
This paper is written for maritime professionals aiming to identify the
performance and cost-effectiveness of their vessel’s propulsion system. It is written for high-speed vessels such as:
- Fast ferries
- Workboats
- Multipurpose-vessels
- Yachts
- Sightseeing/tourism vessels
- Patrol vessels
Running a performance review cannot only help you determine the competitiveness of your vessel today, but also identify what you need to do to remain so in the future. To help you in this process, we have identified seven parameters, to give you a systematic approach during the review process:

This paper will first begin by outlining different high-speed vessel categories and propulsion system, then guide you through the seven performance parameters.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Torleif holds a bachelor’s degree in marine technology with aspecialization in ship building from UiB. He has previously held positions such as Product and General Manger in Wartsila.
Torleif has had several roles in Servogear since 2011. From 2013 to July 2021, he was the Managing Director of Servogear. Torleif has spent all his working life within the maritime business, and most of the time related to propulsion, in various positions.
